Important Things Parents Need to Know

At Geppetto’s we hand select every toy in our stores.  Together our staff has well over 100 years of toy experience.  We only purchase our merchandise from established, reputable manufacturers, who produce quality products with your children’s healthy development in mind.

When selecting a toy there are a few suggestions to keep in mind:

1.    Safety

Be aware of product warnings designed to educate the consumer on a wide range of safety issues. On our site, the safety warnings, if any, will be displayed below the product information.

2.    Age range

While all of our children are brilliant, remember that the age range on a product is there to help you.  You always want to challenge a child while being careful not to frustrate them with a product that is too advanced for their age or their specific abilities.

3.    Toy awards

There are many different product awards in the toy industry. While it is impossible to recognize every great product with an award, it is nice to be able to recognize some award designations you might see on packaging:

b.    ASTRA (American Specialty Toy Retailing Assocation)

d.    Parents Magazine
